The History of Ayenee

The Origins of Creation.

Ayenee is a realm whose primary focus was situated in the Yahoo Chat rooms and despite claims from some who were never original Ayenee roleplayers to begin with, it has remained as such. Role-Playing in Yahoo! came about in many different ways with many different players and goals. Back in 1997, there were clusters of writers, fandom'ers, gamers who gathered around Yahoo! Clubs which offered a free message board, chatroom, and member list that promoted play by email games as well as play by chat games (even if they weren't called that at the time). Over time, Yahoo expanded and in late 1997 had chatrooms for all users to mingle within and in the different sections the players frequented they made their own rules. The first of these many groups was named simply 'Kelindils Site' which was instigated by Kelindil/aka Loreweaver and a core group of players, placing Yahoo roleplaying on a path of no return. Thereafter, roleplaying in this manner was referred to as 'text-based'.

During the Kelindil era, the need for a name for the realm emerged, characters and players needing a 'point of reference' and or 'focus'. One regular player suggested the phonetic transcription of the abbreviation A & E (for Arts & Entertainment), so the word 'Ayenee'  was born. Several years thereafter, Ayenee as a community was split into two 'main' but separate predominant paths, one being Ayenee.Org, handled by those to whom the original handlers of the Kelindil site had entrusted, though it died rather quickly. Another was  Ayenee.Com a splinter site that was larger and more successful until its official end approx around 2008. Between these years we also saw the birth of Aoyn, run by the original Overlord of Ayenee, Varsinax, and relatively successful though not professionally maintained, then last but not least TDR and Paragon.

Ayenee was not originally thought of as a 'realm' but its own entire world, it wasn'tuntil later that some considered it a continent but left the name of the planet itself as undefined. But, in other areas of Yahoo chatting. For instance, in Teen was Tenaria, in Games and Romance was Eden, and so on and on. In nearly every default section of Yahoo Chat there was at least a singular group or realm that was considered the main body of Role players for that section. Adult categories [Romance] had it's own roleplaying realm, located in the Adult/Role Playing category, the [M] version of Eden. Mostly catering to the over 18 crowd, the majority of these plots involved Gor, BDSM and fringe groups such as Furries. As such, most roleplayers shunned this category and they were not welcome in Ayenee as with hybrids [typically because they were over-powered and constructed incorrectly as per inherents and abilities, ideally the races are halved in ability and not increased]; as voted by the general populace of Ayenee.

Though some could be found in the Neko Forest and Furry Forests within Ayenee, though they tended to be slaughtered relatively quickly and driven out. Some realms never made the progress expected and other realms would take their place with over a thousand members at their peak. Sometimes, there were several realms that occupied the same areas but with different rules. For example in Science there was both Ecniecs and Mordor. In Games there was Hell and Eden whereas Ayenee was more multigenre and utilized an array of different timelines, kingdoms and clans (allwith their regions of approved rule). Ultimately however with Yahoo's decision, June 18, 2005 to be exact, to stop user-created rooms, even though by this time the user rooms were pretty much a 'dead zone' in comparison to its early years.

Yahoo roleplaying faded from view.

This change, while harmful to the Yahoo chat roleplaying community but Ayenee still thrived.Role-players were never limited to any one single realm however, and a player could have a few characters in each of the realms, or they could even have characters travel from one realm to another (similar to Knights traveling from one kingdom/realm to another). However, whatever realm they were in, the rules/guidelines were the ones which took precedence. In Ayenee there was appointed 'Justicars' who determined rule infractions as well as various clans that established a sense of 'order' in employment/appointed by those justicars. Whereas in Eden, the Eden Guardians and Calorian Knights and so forth were those that enforced and directed guidelines, lore and laws.....

Although technology was banned in the 'main' user Yahoo Chat rooms due to abuse of power privledges and is also completely banned throughout our communities roleplay and our writers do not accept technology or science-fiction plot arcs. The following information is presented due to its mentions in the past throughout non-canon storylines. And because Ayenee is freeform/multiverse it has been provided for curiousity sake, and for the sake of 'correct' information.

Ayenee (the realm) is located on a world (unknown- some define Ayenee as a world and some recognize it was a realm with 4-5 other continents: Eden/Tenaria/Zoir/Rhydin [for arguement sake]) part of the Elysium Spiral centered within the Onyx Star System and the Eusebeia galaxy
rotating around the central hub [as it has always been]. The region is policed by an Imperial Navy (in some roleplays known as CONCORD) and surrounding allied system fleets, though currently facing opposition [canon] of 'claimed space' due to neglect of Hegemony.

It also must be noted that Elysium space is riddled with wormholes and susceptible to 'unstable' space where rifts and other anomalies are well recorded to occur. These unstable wormholes and rifts often tend to lead to systems with strange and dangerous properties. These systems are more often than not dying or dead systems sometimes called 'voidic wombs'. The one redeeming quality about wormholes however is that some gifted navigators can utilize the random twisting nether and use them as backdoors into systems that would normally be inaccessible due to technology hazzards, spacial anchors, blockades or 'codex' preventions.

Spacial anchors, are located around gates in a 'controlled' or 'claimed' system. These devices limit luminal speed and prevent forms of 'illegal' travel outside of those that bypass the natural curve of space/time within 2 LY of the [online] or [activated]device. The activation of these anchors enforces the only means of efficent travel is to a system that is connected to the network hub or 'naturally' occuring wormholes. Achors may be deactivated or taken off-line through a lengthy process involving hacking the anchor and network. They can also be destroyed by a considerable amount of effort, however, other means of defense will be presented.
